Charles Nettleton was born in 1826 and died in 1902 at the age of 76. Nettleton was an Australian outdoor photographer who lived in Victoria. Nettleton used the wet plate process throughout his career as a photographer. It is said that Nettleton was no artist in the creative sense to his work but he was a 'master technician' of a complicated process.〔 ==Life== Charles Nettleton was born in North England in 1826. He was son to George Nettleton. Nettleton moved to Victoria, Australia in1854-1855, at the age of 28 with his wife Emma Nee Miles. Nettleton was a father of seven daughters and three sons.〔 Nettleton moved to Victoria due for a change of weather and scenery.〔 In 1867, Nettleton was rewarded the title of an official photographer during the Victorian visit of the Duke Of Edinburgh. Nettleton became a member of the Collingwood Lodge of Freemasons in his later years and was a match-winning player of the West Melbourne Bowling Club.〔
